Open Your Life to the Abundant Flow

If aren’t receiving the abundance and prosperity you want, you may be unknowingly blocking the flow. Many people, through self-sabotage, actually push abundance and prosperity away. The question is, how do you open the flood gates to the abundance life that you deserve and know is possible for you?

Abundance is the experience of plenty. Plenty of what you truly need and want in your life; material and otherwise. Catherine Ponder, in her book, “Open Your Mind to Prosperity,” says “You are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing peace, health and plenty in your world.

When you are experiencing true abundance, you have passion in your life, positive relationships, life experiences that you cherish and desire, personal and professional growth and development, and individual moments that you savor.

People often come to me saying, “I’m not sure what I need, but I know I need something. I’m just not happy with my life the way that it is.” When I ask them what they want, virtually all of them say they want more peace, more meaning and more fulfillment in their lives.

So, what’s the missing link? In our culture, abundance is often equated with getting more money. Yet, the pursuit of money often draws our body, mind and spirit out of balance. Having money isn’t a bad thing and you should feel free to pursue any amount of money that feels good to you. However, many people have made the pursuit of money the main source of abundance which in turn can leave them feeling drained, searching for more meaning, fulfillment and peace in their lives.

What does abundance mean for you in your life?

1) What kind of life would be ideal for you?

2) What positive priorities would support that vision?

3) Who and/or what are your most precious possessions, relationships and experiences?

4) Are you allowing yourself the time and energy to do the things that spark your most creative power?

5) How do you currently use your gift of time?

Write a summary statement of your answers. Are you currently living your life according to what is most valuable to you? Are there some things that you would like to change?

So many people postpone pursuing their dreams because we think we’ll get to them later, when we have more time, or when something happens first. As a result, too many people go through life feeling weighed down by daily responsibilities, “shoulds,” “have-to’s,” and “musts.” We become prisoners of our own self-doubts and being disconnected from our values, our purpose, and what brings us abundance in every moment.

Abundance and prosperity is about doing what matters to you in every moment, and feeling fulfilled and alive now. If you’re like most people, getting clarity on your purpose, values and your right path that brings you the true and meaningful abundance you want may seem like a nearly impossible task. For many years, I have been helping people transform their lives by unearthing their gifts, their true potential, and creating their plan to let their most rewarding path unfold and lead a life of fulfillment, success and meaning.

Abundance is more than just having money.

    Although money is often a part of it, but real abundance means having things that fulfill and satisfy you.  So, knowing what fulfills and satisfies you allows you to consciously choose what you want to create, experience, and what you want to draw into your life.

   The first step is; knowing what fulfills you and what you want.  When you know what you need in your life, and exactly what you want, you can master your life, your experiences, your emotions, your relationships and your money, rather than being mastered by it.

  Real abundance is also about flow.  Letting go of what no longer serves, fulfills or satisfies you.  Flow in life is natural.  Look at nature and how it continuously flows; night into day, the seasons, the years.  The migration of the hummingbirds and butterflies.  They don’t have calendars and clocks.  They “go with the flow!”  They know when it is time to let go of what served them for the season, and they follow the natural flow into something new.

  What would happen to the hummingbird or butterflies if they didn’t go with the flow of nature?  If they decided that they wanted to hang around in the nest or garden they had resided in for the summer here in Chicago?  They would die!

What are you hanging on to that no longer serves you?

  Look at your life like the cycles or flow in nature.  Because you are part of nature!  The only thing that separates humans from animals is the appearance of our frontal lobe in our brains.  The frontal lobe allows us to discern, and choose or reject things based on conscious choice.  Without that, we too would not be able to make conscious choices and decisions for ourselves and would have to rely only on our natural instincts to survive.

  While that is a gift, for it is what makes us human and gives us the ability to create these rich, rewarding and complex lives we live, it has also, in far too many ways, driven us away from our true nature, which is…. nature!  The point being, viewing the natural cycles of life, things, people and experiences come into our lives at a particular time to serve a particular need or desire.  Letting go of some of those things when it is no longer serving a need is part of the natural cycle of life. 

  The good news is that in keeping with what we know about the flow of nature, when we let go of the old, it creates a vacuum, a space for the new to come in!  Winter doesn’t simply leave.  It eases its way out and is replaced by Spring.  That is the natural flow of life’s cycles.

Coach’s Request:

  What are some of the things you are hanging on to that have served their purpose, filled a need at a particular time in your life, and are ready to retire or move on?  Don’t only focus on the tangible items.  Go beyond the obvious, and consider things like old beliefs or self-sabotaging habits.  Things that, at one time may have made sense, kept you safe, do not serve you and assist you in your desire for growth, fulfillment and abundance.  In fact, these may be the very things that stand in your way, hold you back or stop you from having more of what you do want in your life.

Have you ever stopped to realize that you created your life to be exactly the way it is today?  Consciously or subconsciously, the choices, decisions, beliefs, and actions you took (or didn’t take) resulted in what you have in your life at this very moment.

Where you are and what you have in your life today is no accident.  Your life is the result of all of the decisions you have ever made (or chose not to make) every moment, every day of your life. 

This is powerful news!  Because, it’s a tremendous testimonial as to the amazingly creative person that you already are!  This means that you have the power to create the life you really want for yourself.

The Power of a Decision:  The first step to actually achieving your goals is to make the decision to do so!  Making the decision to have what you really want must be a real and conscious choice, not simply a wish.

  Making a Decision:  Your decision must be powerful enough to make the difference you want to see in your life.  This is where many people get stuck, because making a decision to have or create different things in your life most likely means that you are going to have to leave the safety of your current comfort zone.  (I will be writing a lot more about the comfort zone in upcoming articles because this is a biggie, yet it doesn’t have to be as difficult or frightening as it may seem!) 

Here are 5 Keys to help you make powerful decisions that can change your life and help you have exactly what you DO want:

1. Ask yourself what you really and truly want.  This means that you must expand your thinking beyond what you currently think you can have.
2. Decide and commit to making it happen.  Ask yourself, “What decision can I make right now that will support my commitment to having what I want?”
3. Make a clear and concise choice to have what you want and deserve.  You must be clear about what you want and how you are going to get it. 
4. Picture where you will be and what it will look like when you have reached your goals.  Really let yourself imagine and feel what it feels like to be in the experience of what you want for yourself.
5. Take responsibility for your dreams.  It’s easy to point fingers or blame something or someone else for what shows up in our lives.  Don’t give your creative power away by imagining yourself in a victim role when it comes to making choices and decisions that impact your life and your dreams.

  Once you determine your direction, you must be committed to taking the actions that match that decision in order to get it.  When you decide and commit, your subconscious mind will work to help you get exactly what you say you want.  That’s where the phrase, “Be careful what you ask for!” comes from.  The subconscious mind is more powerful than most of us had ever been were aware of in the past.  More and more science and research is showing us the amazing power of our subconscious mind.  (I also plan to write more about that in future articles because this is powerful and fascinating!)

  You have created many miracles in your life, even those you don’t necessarily like.  Setting clear goals and taking responsibility for making conscious choices and decisions that are aligned with those goals is the most powerful thing you can do for yourself and those who you influence.

The Biggest Thing Most Entrepreneurs Do to Sabotage Success

  If you’ve been in business for a while, you realize that there are ups and downs, and peaks and valley.  When things are going well, you are doing the work you love, you’re working with your ideal clients who appreciate you and your work, you’re making money, and everything feels like it flows.  But when things aren’t going so well, you feel like everything’s a struggle and often you aren’t sure what to do to get back into that flow!

  What many entrepreneurs do is dig their heels in, put their nose to the grindstone, and worker longer and harder.  Unfortunately, that’s exactly what keeps them stuck!

  It’s important to remember that it’s not about working harder.  The most important thing you can do is step back and refocus so your energy is aligned with the results you want.

Here are 3 Keys to Jumpstart the Flow of Success in Your Business:

Key 1:  Be clear about what you want.  One of the biggest reasons most people don’t get what they want is because they don’t know what they want!  

  You must have a crystal clear vision of what you want.  I know you’ve heard this before, and you’ve undoubtedly done this exercise at least once, but I’m going to encourage you to do to it again; write out the story of your perfect life, exactly as you want it to be, and re-read it daily. 

  Make this a priority; schedule time in your calendar, just like you’d schedule any other important meeting.  Give it your full, undivided attention.  Put on relaxing music (I find that music without lyrics works best to allow creative thought to flow.).  Write out every single detail of what you want your life and your business to look like.   What will bring you the most joy and the least stress?  Include colors, smells, ideas and feelings.  In fact, put as much emotion into your story as possible! 

  After you have your story written out, just the way you want it, take time every day to re-read your story.  Be sure you actually feel yourself in the story as if it is already just that way!  You might even find that you want to add some additional visions or details in, and I encourage you to do that!  Make it as detailed as possible.  You will be activating the creative part of your subconscious mind to begin creating this life for you.

Key 2:  Be clear about your “receiver” and what “frequency” they are set at.  In other words, you are in business to provide a service; you are the “generator.”  Your target market is the people who need or want your service; they are the “receiver.” 

  If business has slowed, one of the things you need to ask yourself is, “Am I delivering exactly what my ideal clients want, and is my marketing message clearly reaching them?”  In other words, “Am I still tuned in to them?”  Just like a radio frequency, you as the generator must be precisely tuned to what your receiver wants and be sure you are generating a high-quality message, or they won’t receive it!  By taking the time to be crystal clear, you can reach your target audience and easily attract them with far less effort.

Key 3:  Take “right” action.

We’ve all experienced it, when our business isn’t working the way we want it to, we begin to feel frustration.  The worst thing about frustration is often entrepreneurs start doing anything and everything they know to just try to get business moving again.  This is not the time to work harder, it’s the time to step back, clear the clutter and stop doing what’s not working!  Just working harder, longer hours is nothing but an energy drain if what you are doing isn’t directly related to getting the exact results you want (see Keys #1 and #2.). 

  This is like the definition of insanity; continually doing the same thing and expecting different results.  This is a very common way that entrepreneurs fail to move their business quickly and easily forward.

  Imagine that you are stranded in the middle of nowhere.  You call someone, on your cell phone, for help.  The person who answers is not the person you expected; in fact they don’t even speak the same language as you!  You hang up the phone, and dial the same number again – and again you get the same person. 

  This happens several times, you are becoming more and more frustrated.  You’ve read that you can get what you want if you think positive thoughts, so you think positive thoughts and you even visualize (Key #1) that the exact person you want will answer your call.  You repeat your affirmations, and you dial the same number.  You get the same person.

  Now your cell phone battery is almost dead and you can only make one more call.  Do you repeat your affirmations harder and louder this time?  Or do you stop, reconsider what’s not working, and try a new strategy?

  This sounds absurd, but it’s exactly what many people do with their lives and business.  They continue taking the same actions, getting more and more frustrated and exhausted, and they can’t figure out why they’re not getting ahead.

The fact is, when you have these 3 keys working together;

1. have a crystal clear vision of what you want;
2. know what your ideal clients want so you can generate a clear service and message that reaches them; and
3. eliminate what’s not working and start doing only those things that will bring you the results you desire

  Even when you are in a room full of people who are in the same field, or offer the same type of services, it’s imperative that you are clear about what makes you different.  Be crystal clear about what you do in a way that no one else does it, and the results you get that no one else gets, and you can easily set yourself apart from the competition.

4)      Have a business model that easily allows you to make 6-figures, even multiple 6-figures, with fun, unique, and energizing multiple streams of income.

The Power Of Archetypes

  I promised you more about Archetypes.  Some of you told me that, before you received my newsletter, you really didn’t know what archetypes were, or what it means to you.  So, here is what I know….

  Archetypes is a tool we can use to draw us closer to personal awareness and discern where our unique personal power comes from at any given time in our own life’s journey.  When we identify with a certain archetype, we are effectively peering into our own set of unconscious traits. 

  While some may not have heard the term “archetypes” before, or may not completely understand what the potentiality in understanding them is, I assure you that you do know what the idea of archetypes is.  Remember Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast?  Belle was the Hero (Heroine), while Beast is the Outcast.  Cogsworth is the Responsible.  Mrs. Potts, the Nurturer, and so on. 

  The different archetypes (I gave you 12 primary archetypal characters in my 9/13/10 newsletter) are really labels for a particular set of traits, characteristics and expected behaviors.  So, when you think of the archetype (or label) “Teacher,” you get an image of what characteristics and traits that person might embody.  When you think of the archetype (or label) “Hero,” your mind automatically conjures up a set of ideas of what you could expect from that person.  In fact, think of all of the Disney movies you’ve seen, and you’ll understand how each story is written to include certain archetypal personalities and how they interact together.

  These inner guides – archetypes – have been with us since the dawn of time.  We see them reflected throughout the ages in art, literature, mythical stories and even religions.  Look around and see that archetypes are found everywhere, in everything.

  Why is this important to you?  Well, archetypes can serve as our inner guides to help us on our journey through life.  When you understand more about yourself, and how others perceive you, you become more self-empowered, and true to your soul.  You can make a conscious choice to find and express your unique gifts more fully in the world.  Each has its own gifts, strengths and ways of being.  Each presents its own set of lessons and challenges  

  Archetypes are also described as an energetic pattern that resides within our unconscious at different stages of our lives.  Each archetype that comes into our lives brings with it a task, a lesson, and ultimately a gift.  And the best part is that all of the archetypes reside within each of us.  Which means that we all have this full human potential within ourselves, and it is up to us to draw upon each one as is appropriate.

  When you identify your particular set of archetypes you can really begin to understand the patterns you experience in your life, both positive and challenging.  You can see how certain situations, people and experiences continue to show up in your life that either benefit you or tend to throw you off balance.  When you recognize these as energetic patterns in your life, you can understand how you really are drawing these experiences into your life!  You can also better understand how to work with each as it comes.

  Here are just a few of the benefits of identifying which set of archetypes are prevalent at various times in your life:  You can more clearly see

  In my work with clients, I give them a brief assessment that helps them identify which archetype is the primary and which is the supporting influence in their life.  We use this, along with other highly effective tools, to get a deeply insightful perspective on what the client needs in her life to bring her the greatest amount of joy, purpose, meaning and satisfaction in her life.  When clients get this kind of insight, they always tell me that I have given them a perspective on life that they’ve never had before, and have “finally given them permission to be themselves.” 

What’s my primary archetype?  The Alchemist – A visionary, making dreams come true, transforming what is into its highest potential.

  Taking your life to the next level, personally and/or professionally, requires that you know yourself really well.  It means you must be clear on your strengths, purpose and also those “shadows” that could challenge your growth.  If you have a desire for more in your life, but find you may be struggling, you want to be sure you are clear on your natural strengths and challenges so you can move forward with purpose & ease. 

  When you get clear on who you really are and what you are really here to do, you will find yourself living with more passion.  You will find that joy comes much more easily to you.  And you will soon experience doors and windows of opportunity opening up to you that will lead you to dreams and wonders that you didn’t even know existed in the past.

  The more physical benefit of knowing yourself really well, is understanding what makes you strong and unique in the world.  When you know your strengths and what sets you apart, you are able to focus that and package it so that you can be most effective, sell yourself better, and make more money.

What Is My Archetype?

Here is an exercise that can help you begin to see yourself more clearly through different lenses.

  Below is a list of the 12 primary Archetypes. Read the brief descriptions and see if you recognize which description characterizes your “Primary” Archetype.  This is the one that typically leads your values, visions, actions and experiences on a day-to-day basis.  Then, choose which one shows up as your “Influencing” Archetype.  This is the one that makes you uniquely you.  Several people in your life may have the same Primary Archetype as yours, but it’s your Influencing Archetype that gives you your unique way of seeing the world and making choices and showing up as uniquely “you.”  Finally, which Archetype is your “Shadow?”  The Shadow is that part of you that you resist and possibly even resent.  Typically it will be the last one you would choose to acknowledge as being a part of you.  Although it is just as important to be aware of the Shadow as it is to be aware of your Primary and Influencing Archetypes because when you are aware of your Shadow Archetype, you can consciously choose to honor and express its more positive side.

Alchemist:  The visionary, catalyst, innovator, charismatic leader, mediator, shaman, healer, or medicine woman.  They inspire people to commit to a higher vision of what they can be or do.

Artist:  The Artist is driven to re-imagine the ordinary and turn it into the extraordinary.  The Artist has a deep desire to make things different than they are.  Typically unwilling to confirm, their imagination is the catalyst for innovation and never-ending steams of possibility.

Explorer:  The Explorer is driven to seek new experiences.  Their spiritual contract is “To pioneer the discovery of our truth.”  The Explorer is often on a question for individuality and uniqueness and is often restless and ambitious.

Hero:  The Hero wants to champion those who cannot stand up for themselves.  The Hero’s spiritual contract is “To prove the spirit through courageous action and triumph over adversity.”

Humanitarian:  The unsung hero who speaks up for the common person (animal).  The Humanitarian archetype taps into our desire to know that we all count; we each have a voice, regardless of our status in life.

Innocent:  The Innocent touches our heart and helps us believe that “We can be happy.”  The Innocent is optimistic and speaks to our need for simpler times, wholesomeness and honest values.

Jester:  The Jester is never satisfied with the status quo and uses their cleverness to help us see the world from a new perspective.  The Jester creates the possibility for a variety of new ideas and innovations.  The Jester gives us permission to be a little naughty, to have fun and escape from our daily cares.

Maverick:  The Maverick is driven to shake things up.  They often feel like the outsider, yet may possess a romantic “bad boy” identity which is highly charismatic.  The Maverick yearns to break loose and challenge the limits.

Nurturer:  The Nurturer’s compassion, generosity and caring envelopes us in the feeling that we are home again.  The Nurture sooths our hearts and comforts our hearts.  The Nurture has a deep desire to take care of the people and things in their world.

Romantic:  The Romantic has a deep desire for intimacy and connection.  The Romantic Archetype enjoys being singled out as special and unique.  The Romantic’s spiritual contract is “To make heart-to-heart connections.”

Ruler:  The Ruler’s mission is to create order and peace so that others can prosper.  The Ruler’s true gift is to empower leadership, prosperity and success in others.

Teacher:  The Teacher’s spiritual contract is “To discover and share the gift of wisdom.”  They are a natural skeptic and seek to find proof or evidence to validate their discoveries, insights or hypothesis.


  Each Archetype has its own strengths, characteristics and possibilities.  Each archetype also has its own set of challenges to be aware of.  When you are aware of your challenges, you begin to see patterns unfold that explain why you repeatedly find yourself in certain less-than-desirable situations.  And with this awareness, you can begin to make better, more empowering choices to avoid these challenges, or at the very least, recognize the situation for what it is, and get out of it much more quickly.

  Each Archetype also has its own influence over your personal relationship to Money.  Do you easily attract money into your life, or do you somehow push it away?  Are you confident in charging for what you’re services are really worth, or do you continually discount your value?  What unconscious limiting beliefs do you hold that do not serve you?

What Stands In The Way Of The Personal And Business Success That You Want?

   Have you ever felt like you are working so hard, doing everything you know to do, and still feel like you aren’t achieving the level of success you know is possible for you?  Have you felt exhaustion and frustration because you know there is more for you to do, be and have but don’t know what else you can possible do to make it happen for you?

  When I ask my audiences in my public presentations, “How many of you have reached the personal level of success you would like to have?” very few raise their hand.  So, what is it that blocks us from being all that that we can be?

  The women who come to me are on their own journey of self-discovery.  They tell me they wake up in the morning with a yearning, wanting something more for themselves, but don’t know how to tap into it.  They’ve tried fulfilling that yearning by getting yet another credential, moving up on the corporate ladder, reading spiritual and self-help books and attending workshops and yet nothing has filled that quiet, yet intense call deep within their heart.

How Do You Find Your Life’s Passion? 

For years, like most of my clients, I was searching; trying to find what it is that would free me of this yearning for purpose in my own life.  I knew there was more within me to be expressed.  I changed jobs, I attended workshops, I followed gurus, waiting, even begging for someone to be able to evoke that deeper brilliance I knew was within me.  I knew that if someone would just help me identify my passion that I would have no problem stepping into it, I just needed help uncovering it!

  Isn’t that odd?  We live with ourselves from the day we were born, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, every year – and we still don’t know what that one single thing that is so special, unique and purposeful about ourselves is!  So, we begin the search outside of ourselves to learn the answer.  I call it “looking for me in all the wrong places.”

  Here is the secret; your passion is as close as your very own breath.  If that is true, then why are so many of us living day-to-day with this feeling of being disconnected from our true self?  Studies have shown that 84% of us are not living in congruence with our core passion and purpose!  That means that most adults are still searching for their truth.

  Here is another secret; the transformation that can occur between the search, and discovering your true nature, passion and purpose is simply awareness.  The awareness of reconnecting with who you were born to be.  The awareness that comes from unearthing what is so unique and brilliant about you that you are able to deeply touch and begin to fully express your purpose, your passion and your truth.

  Fortunately, I had the blessing of discovering this awareness for myself.  I now know that it is my purpose to help as many others reconnect with their natural-born purpose and passion as possible.  I know the pain and frustration of feeling disconnected from your core self, and I know the joy and freedom that comes from becoming realigned with my truth.  I have been inspired to help others stop the search and live life as fully and passionately as we are meant to live.

 You are unique in this Universe.  There is only one of you, and you have a special place and purpose in this world to fulfill which no one else can.  This purpose is already within you.  It has been with you since before the day you were born, and will be with you until the day you leave this earth.

 Do you know what your unique purpose is?  Have you discovered what it is that is so special about you that no one else possesses the same gifts, strengths and passions that you possess?  Do you have a knowing, deep within your heart, that you are here to serve in a bigger way?

 Henry David Thoreau said:  “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.”  Of course, that quote was written in 1854.  Today, I’d be willing to rephrase it and say that “Most people lead lives of quiet desperation.”  And, according to Dr. Sherry Buffington, author of the book, “The Law of Abundance,” as many as 84% of the people she did her studies and research with were unable to articulate what gave their life meaning, or what they were passionate about.  Dr. Buffington also comments that, “almost everyone reported a strong desire to have meaning and passion in their life.”

 So, the question is, if the majority of people have a strong desire for purpose, passion and to live a meaningful life, then why are so many of the people unclear on what the purpose and meaning is for them?  And, if this is true, that so many are unclear on their purpose and meaning, is this the reason for Thoreau’s observations of the pain that seems to afflict the human race?

 I spent more than 40 years of my life searching for something to fill a hole in my soul.  By all practical standards I lived a healthy, happy and abundant life.  But there was still something missing.  I could feel it in my heart.  There was more that I needed to do, be and express but I lived in overwhelming frustration because I didn’t know what that “more” was!  Thus, my search to find what was missing.  I call it “looking for me in all the wrong places.”

 I thought I would find that magic, that purpose and passion in the right job.  I went from job to job, hoping that the next job, the next boss would inspire the unique brilliance within me.  I think I kept waiting to be discovered, but it never happened in any job I had had.  I also studied everything I could on spirituality, self-help and metaphysics.  I think I kept waiting to be enlightened, but that hasn’t happened either.

 I almost gave up my search, and decided I should settle and be content with what I had.  After all, I had more than a lot of people, so shouldn’t I just be satisfied and live out my life…in quiet desperation?

 Fortunately, I am among the few who finally do find their way, and it was actually much easier than I had ever imagined it to be.  The key to living a full, satisfying life with meaning and purpose does not lie outside of oneself, i.e., a job, books, and self-help courses.  It doesn’t even lie in the next relationship, or in a bigger house or higher title on the corporate ladder.  The key to true joy and fulfillment is right here, inside, where it has been all along.  

 When you unearth and connect with your true nature you are suddenly freed up from the “mask” of who you believed yourself to be.  The search is over, and you take a quantum leap forward by claiming your authentic, joyous self.  You easily step into your unique purpose and begin to create a truly meaningful and fulfilling life.

 What Is Your Divine Purpose?

  We all have a creative genius within us, and this genius presents itself only when we are living in alignment with our divine purpose.

  Let me ask you this, have you ever felt like there is a part of you that has not yet been tapped into?  Do you feel like you are living a comfortable life, yet still looking for that thing that really makes your heart sing?  Have you found yourself continually searching for that part of you that is special, unique and absolutely brilliant?

  I have a confession, I remember thinking, since I was 9 years old, that something very special was going to happen for me.  And while many wonderful things have happened, I always was searching and waiting for that one really magical thing that would call forth my divine purpose.  What I learned, after 40+ years of waiting for and searching for that magic, was that it was within me all along.  I just needed the right opportunity to discover that. 

  Fortunately, I discovered the CORE MAP process which completely opened up my entire life to new dimensions, opportunities, and levels of effectiveness.  Since then I have been working closely with other women who were also on the verge of breaking through the monotony of life as it was, and unearthing their true divine purpose and live it fully!

  When we are fully aligned with our purpose, and the life we were born to live, we find helpful people and seemingly “magical” or coincidental opportunities coming forward which gently lead the way.  This is the experience of being in the flow, and life becomes much more effortless, joyful and meaningful.

Here 5 simple steps to help you tune in to your own divine purpose:

1.         Brainstorm, and write down everything you really love to do.  Once you have completed the list, go back and number each entry in the order of which appeals to you the most.

            Tip:  Think of the times in the past when you were at your absolute best!  When time just passed, and everything felt as though it were going your way.

2.        Read over your list, and put it away for a day or two.  Make an appointment with yourself when you have some quiet time, and take out your list and begin adding to it.

            Tip:  Make sure you are including only those things that make you feel really joyful.  Sometimes we are extraordinarily good at some things, yet they do not make us joyful.  These are the things that we have learned, or may have been conditioned to do well, but are not part of our life’s purpose.

3.     After you have dug really deep within, and recognize what it is that truly makes your heart sing versus those things you typically spend your day-to-day life doing, go back and re-number the entries.  Make sure what makes you feel most joyful and purposeful is number 1 on your list.  

            Tip:  It may surprise you to discover that the order may differ from the original order you assigned a day or two ago.

4.         Select the top ten entries on your list.  Now, make a list of what each of these top ten has in common.  With this in mind, what occurs to you that may be a clue to uncovering your divine purpose?  

            Tip:  Don’t limit yourself to just one idea.  Play with this over a period of time.

5.         Once you have uncovered some of the clues to what may be most important to you, immediately begin taking steps to bringing more of those joyful, meaningful experiences into your life.  For example, you may have discovered that many of your top ten entries related to travel.  You might begin bringing more of that into your life by subscribing to a travel magazine, or planning your next trip to an exotic destination.

            Tip:  Pay close attention to what energizes you the most.  Again, this may not be the same as what you have been doing most of your life that you are really good         at. But that’s okay, you’ve just added a whole new dimension to your day-to-day life that brings you closer to living the life you were meant to live.

  When you are on the track of your divine purpose, everything you do in pursuit of it will inspire and energize you.  You will begin to call in the people and opportunities that will continue to show you the next steps and open up doors which you hadn’t even known existed for you.  When you are not living in alignment with your divine purpose, you are not in the flow, and life feels like a struggle and drains your energy.  Continue to pay attention to how you feel when you are going through your daily activities.  If it feels joyful and easily flows, you are on the right path.  This is the path of living your divine purpose and when your true creative genius shines through!
