Have you ever heard the beat of an infectious song? Your toe starts to tap, your hips slightly sway, your head bobs up and down. Try as you might your body knows the rhythm and instinctively tries to move to it. Your body knows.

Do you rock out? Do you go with it and let the dance take you? Probably not. Probably, you like most hold yourself back. And yet as DeMille knew to dance is to release your inner divinity. To allow yourself to fully let go and to step into the rhythm is to become larger, more beautiful, more powerful.

Am I really talking about only the act of dancing? Of course not – it is a metaphor for all the things that we hold back on. The dreams we stuff down, because they are impractical; the vision of our self that we don’t feel strong enough to show to the world. But our bodies know and try to go with the rhythm of those dreams and visions anyway.

When you hold back, you lessen yourself and feel stressed. Your body knows – that tightness in your stomach that tells you that you’re unhappy; the tension headaches or moments reaching for something to eat. You know you aren’t playing full out. But you may not know what else to do?

When clients come to me I have a gift for them – the gift of being able to go deep into their hidden, undiscovered talents and to pull them into the light. I help them take the stage and stand in their own glorious magnificence.

And then…

I unlock the dreams and desires to move them forward. Not just a shuffling tiny step or two. Not just toe tapping and wishing they were out on the dance floor but full out movement. They feel the freedom and joy of being in the dance. Try it… try letting yourself dance to the music.

Put on one of your favorite tunes… turn the music up. Grab a scarf and dance. Don’t worry if you are in step. There is no right or wrong. This is your dance and everything is right!

Raise your hands to the ceiling, drop at the waist and swing to the floor, move those hips, relax into the music and let your body sway to it any way it wants or can. Do you feel the freedom, the power? Now imagine if every moment of everyday was a dance.

Sometimes it just takes someone else to take your hands: to swing them in rhythm, getting you going, to show you a few moves and to help in choreographing your dance of life. Move forward, feel the freedom and the joy of dancing on the path that is right for you!

We all have cares, stresses and problems. It’s a natural part of life. It is how you manage these challenges that determines your success.  Have you ever met a person who seems to have difficult circumstances.  Perhaps someone is chronically ill or is disfigured; perhaps someone has lost everything they held dear; perhaps they have lived in poverty or amid war.  Yet they appear content, perhaps even happy. Somehow they manage to still see the beauty in life and to meet it with a smile.

How can they do this? The answer is simple. They focus on the positive. They find something to smile about in every moment.  And by finding that positive they charge their hearts and their hearts charge their mind — creating the infinite loop of positive loving energy that effects everyone and everything around them.

You can be this radiating glow. You can begin to shift your own thinking and find joy in every day.

First, put your entire focus on anticipating that whatever you’re concerned about will go well. Your positive expectations about your situation will steer it in the desired direction.

Second, look for the positive.   Every day remind yourself of ten positive things.  They can be little – your cup of coffee was hot. Your child ate all of his dinner.  It doesn’t matter how small because you will have begun to create the positive flow. It will naturally begin to surge and effect every thing you do.

Third, write these positives down.  Holding positive or negative expectations takes the same amount of time and effort. Stop using your journal to vent and turn it into a gratitude journal.  List everything that you are grateful for.

The outcome of your current situation is guaranteed to be good, yet your experience of the process of getting to that point is influenced by what you think will happen.

If you foresee problems, you’ll come across them along the way; on the other hand, if you anticipate harmony, then that’ what you’ll experience. This is the Universal Law of Attraction. Either way, everything is going to turn out just fine – but which path would you prefer to take? Your expectations set your course.

Use this affirmation to stay on course:

“I Do not give in to fears –  I deliver them to the angels.  I know that by doing this the outcomes will be positive”

In our hearts we already know the directions we need to take.  Play with it for a moment. Remember a wonderful time in your life, feel the joy. Re-live the moments. If you need a start: picture a sleeping baby, remember cuddling your pet, or looking in to the eyes of a loved one.

Where do you feel the experience in your body? Your heart.

When you are on the right path, making the right choices your heart will feel warm and full.  Relax into it and allow the knowledge to flow into you.  Use your heart as an inner guide; it is a clear message from your higher power.

Your inner self is wise beyond limits.  When you learn to tap into your inner Guidance, you are tapped into the universal source which has access to all knowledge.  Feel the messages from your higher self, higher power, God.

People who appear to be most brilliant are those who listen to their inner wisdom and put it into action.  They have known in their hearts what is right and listened.

Embracing Transformative Times

 This is a time of change for so many.  Whether it be a change in career, relationships, or a deeper desire to contribute to something bigger; many are feeling a need for physical, emotional and/or spiritual movement.

 Have you ever wished that someone would hand you a map and directions on how you can find and fulfill your deeper purpose in your life?  Are you looking for a sense of clarity, more meaning, and alignment with your greater calling?

You are a significant piece of the universal puzzle.

 Edgar Cayce, the modern-day sleeping prophet, said: Each soul enters the earth to fill a role that no other soul could fill so well.  When an opportunity occurs for a soul to enter the earth (a pregnancy) the ideal soul is selected to come into the specific situation.

 Often we feel lost in the crowd, insignificant in the big scheme of things.  Yet what Cayce is saying is, you are so important.  You are that one piece of the whole puzzle that no one else could fill!  Without you filling your role, the picture is incomplete, the right connections are not made, and there is emptiness where your light is most needed.

 As you move toward your deeper purpose, it’s important not to resist or fear change.  Embrace transformation by attuning your heart and mind with the energies of change so you can advance out of limitation and into the unwavering, expansive, all-knowing being that you are.  Learn to move with the energies of transformation and you will find that all the answers are right before you.  Open up to the currents of change, align with your divine destiny, and experience the balance and harmony of being part of the complete picture.

 Open Your Life to the Abundant Flow

If aren’t receiving the abundance and prosperity you want, you may be unknowingly blocking the flow. Many people, through self-sabotage, actually push abundance and prosperity away. The question is, how do you open the flood gates to the abundance life that you deserve and know is possible for you?

Abundance is the experience of plenty. Plenty of what you truly need and want in your life; material and otherwise. Catherine Ponder, in her book, “Open Your Mind to Prosperity,” says “You are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing peace, health and plenty in your world.

When you are experiencing true abundance, you have passion in your life, positive relationships, life experiences that you cherish and desire, personal and professional growth and development, and individual moments that you savor.

People often come to me saying, “I’m not sure what I need, but I know I need something. I’m just not happy with my life the way that it is.” When I ask them what they want, virtually all of them say they want more peace, more meaning and more fulfillment in their lives.

So, what’s the missing link? In our culture, abundance is often equated with getting more money. Yet, the pursuit of money often draws our body, mind and spirit out of balance. Having money isn’t a bad thing and you should feel free to pursue any amount of money that feels good to you. However, many people have made the pursuit of money the main source of abundance which in turn can leave them feeling drained, searching for more meaning, fulfillment and peace in their lives.

What does abundance mean for you in your life?

1) What kind of life would be ideal for you?

2) What positive priorities would support that vision?

3) Who and/or what are your most precious possessions, relationships and experiences?

4) Are you allowing yourself the time and energy to do the things that spark your most creative power?

5) How do you currently use your gift of time?

Write a summary statement of your answers. Are you currently living your life according to what is most valuable to you? Are there some things that you would like to change?

So many people postpone pursuing their dreams because we think we’ll get to them later, when we have more time, or when something happens first. As a result, too many people go through life feeling weighed down by daily responsibilities, “shoulds,” “have-to’s,” and “musts.” We become prisoners of our own self-doubts and being disconnected from our values, our purpose, and what brings us abundance in every moment.

Abundance and prosperity is about doing what matters to you in every moment, and feeling fulfilled and alive now. If you’re like most people, getting clarity on your purpose, values and your right path that brings you the true and meaningful abundance you want may seem like a nearly impossible task. For many years, I have been helping people transform their lives by unearthing their gifts, their true potential, and creating their plan to let their most rewarding path unfold and lead a life of fulfillment, success and meaning.

Abundance is more than just having money.

    Although money is often a part of it, but real abundance means having things that fulfill and satisfy you.  So, knowing what fulfills and satisfies you allows you to consciously choose what you want to create, experience, and what you want to draw into your life.

   The first step is; knowing what fulfills you and what you want.  When you know what you need in your life, and exactly what you want, you can master your life, your experiences, your emotions, your relationships and your money, rather than being mastered by it.

  Real abundance is also about flow.  Letting go of what no longer serves, fulfills or satisfies you.  Flow in life is natural.  Look at nature and how it continuously flows; night into day, the seasons, the years.  The migration of the hummingbirds and butterflies.  They don’t have calendars and clocks.  They “go with the flow!”  They know when it is time to let go of what served them for the season, and they follow the natural flow into something new.

  What would happen to the hummingbird or butterflies if they didn’t go with the flow of nature?  If they decided that they wanted to hang around in the nest or garden they had resided in for the summer here in Chicago?  They would die!

What are you hanging on to that no longer serves you?

  Look at your life like the cycles or flow in nature.  Because you are part of nature!  The only thing that separates humans from animals is the appearance of our frontal lobe in our brains.  The frontal lobe allows us to discern, and choose or reject things based on conscious choice.  Without that, we too would not be able to make conscious choices and decisions for ourselves and would have to rely only on our natural instincts to survive.

  While that is a gift, for it is what makes us human and gives us the ability to create these rich, rewarding and complex lives we live, it has also, in far too many ways, driven us away from our true nature, which is…. nature!  The point being, viewing the natural cycles of life, things, people and experiences come into our lives at a particular time to serve a particular need or desire.  Letting go of some of those things when it is no longer serving a need is part of the natural cycle of life. 

  The good news is that in keeping with what we know about the flow of nature, when we let go of the old, it creates a vacuum, a space for the new to come in!  Winter doesn’t simply leave.  It eases its way out and is replaced by Spring.  That is the natural flow of life’s cycles.

Coach’s Request:

  What are some of the things you are hanging on to that have served their purpose, filled a need at a particular time in your life, and are ready to retire or move on?  Don’t only focus on the tangible items.  Go beyond the obvious, and consider things like old beliefs or self-sabotaging habits.  Things that, at one time may have made sense, kept you safe, do not serve you and assist you in your desire for growth, fulfillment and abundance.  In fact, these may be the very things that stand in your way, hold you back or stop you from having more of what you do want in your life.

The Power Of Archetypes

  I promised you more about Archetypes.  Some of you told me that, before you received my newsletter, you really didn’t know what archetypes were, or what it means to you.  So, here is what I know….

  Archetypes is a tool we can use to draw us closer to personal awareness and discern where our unique personal power comes from at any given time in our own life’s journey.  When we identify with a certain archetype, we are effectively peering into our own set of unconscious traits. 

  While some may not have heard the term “archetypes” before, or may not completely understand what the potentiality in understanding them is, I assure you that you do know what the idea of archetypes is.  Remember Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast?  Belle was the Hero (Heroine), while Beast is the Outcast.  Cogsworth is the Responsible.  Mrs. Potts, the Nurturer, and so on. 

  The different archetypes (I gave you 12 primary archetypal characters in my 9/13/10 newsletter) are really labels for a particular set of traits, characteristics and expected behaviors.  So, when you think of the archetype (or label) “Teacher,” you get an image of what characteristics and traits that person might embody.  When you think of the archetype (or label) “Hero,” your mind automatically conjures up a set of ideas of what you could expect from that person.  In fact, think of all of the Disney movies you’ve seen, and you’ll understand how each story is written to include certain archetypal personalities and how they interact together.

  These inner guides – archetypes – have been with us since the dawn of time.  We see them reflected throughout the ages in art, literature, mythical stories and even religions.  Look around and see that archetypes are found everywhere, in everything.

  Why is this important to you?  Well, archetypes can serve as our inner guides to help us on our journey through life.  When you understand more about yourself, and how others perceive you, you become more self-empowered, and true to your soul.  You can make a conscious choice to find and express your unique gifts more fully in the world.  Each has its own gifts, strengths and ways of being.  Each presents its own set of lessons and challenges  

  Archetypes are also described as an energetic pattern that resides within our unconscious at different stages of our lives.  Each archetype that comes into our lives brings with it a task, a lesson, and ultimately a gift.  And the best part is that all of the archetypes reside within each of us.  Which means that we all have this full human potential within ourselves, and it is up to us to draw upon each one as is appropriate.

  When you identify your particular set of archetypes you can really begin to understand the patterns you experience in your life, both positive and challenging.  You can see how certain situations, people and experiences continue to show up in your life that either benefit you or tend to throw you off balance.  When you recognize these as energetic patterns in your life, you can understand how you really are drawing these experiences into your life!  You can also better understand how to work with each as it comes.

  Here are just a few of the benefits of identifying which set of archetypes are prevalent at various times in your life:  You can more clearly see

  In my work with clients, I give them a brief assessment that helps them identify which archetype is the primary and which is the supporting influence in their life.  We use this, along with other highly effective tools, to get a deeply insightful perspective on what the client needs in her life to bring her the greatest amount of joy, purpose, meaning and satisfaction in her life.  When clients get this kind of insight, they always tell me that I have given them a perspective on life that they’ve never had before, and have “finally given them permission to be themselves.”

What Is Your Highest Potential? 

  Your highest potential is when there is no limit to what you can have, do or be.  You are fully connected to the center of our soul.  You know your purpose and you feel joy, satisfaction and freedom every day.

  You have within yourself, the potentiality to create whatever you desire.  The problem is that most people are so disconnected from the center of their soul that they don’t even know what they truly desire.

  Who are you when you are still, quiet, and fully connected to the center of your soul?  This is where your truth and your power live.  This is the seed for your highest potential to arise from.  When you peal back all of the “masks” that you have created for yourself, what, or who, lies beneath?

  I spent 40 years of my life creating new masks for myself.  Masks that would allow me to “fit” into each new life’s experience as it came my way.  With each new experience I needed to figure out what would be expected of me, how did I need to show up in order to be accepted and fit in?  Who did they want or need me to be?

  It certainly is no wonder that I felt so disconnected from my own truth and the center of my soul.   And it certainly is no wonder that I had lost my power.  No, wait, I hadn’t lost it ….. I just didn’t know how to access it.

  This is the feeling of being stuck.  You know that there is something more for you to experience, or express, but you just don’t know what that is.  Like me, you may have felt frustrated, dissatisfied for no apparent reason, restless, struggling to find more meaning and satisfaction in your daily life.  

  So, when you are in this stuck place, how can you begin to go deeper beyond the masks that you may not even realize you’ve placed upon yourself?  Use this simple exercise to help you begin to connect with what lies in the center of your soul and lead you to experience your highest potential:

  Begin your day by taking some time to image what your life would look like, and feel like, if you were living it at your highest potential.  You may even ask your higher self for guidance about what you are to do, and allow it to take you there.  Allow yourself enough time to see and sense all of the rich details that lie along your true life’s path. 

  Once you connect with your truth and purpose, your power naturally shows up, like the clouds parting for the bright, strong, warm power of the sun to shine through. It is natural, it feels good, and it is right.  Suddenly, everything is right.  Then the flow happens.  Doors open, opportunities arise and other powerful, helping people appear in your life that you could have never dreamed of for yourself in the past.  It is then that you are in alignment with your highest potential to reveal itself to you over and over again.  And you will be amazed at what begins to quickly and effortlessly show up for you.

 Find Yourself, By Taking Time For Yourself

  “The myth is, when you focus on yourself you are being selfish.  The reality is, if you don’t know your true self and cultivate an ongoing relationship with her, you can’t truly be with or give to anyone else.”  Jennifer Louden, Author of The Woman’s Comfort Book

  “No Boys Allowed!”  I recall being 9 or 10, and creating a girls-only club with my best girlfriends.  We created our exclusive clubhouse out of sheets and dining-room chairs, and we hung our sign, No Boys Allowed!  Did we always know, even back then, how important it would be for us women to retreat?  And, what exactly does it mean to retreat?

  According to Jennifer Louden, in “The Women’s Retreat Book,”    “A woman’s retreat springs from and is guided by a woman’s inner knowing.”  Perhaps we did have this internal knowing when we were 9 that it was important for us, at least for a period of time, to shut ourselves off from the noise and distractions of our outer world.  So, if this is true, what is this woman’s innate guidance trying to tell us?  Louden goes on to say, “A woman’s retreat is about stepping out of your ordinary existence to listen to and attune to your truest, most authentic self.  It is about being self-referenced to become self-restored.”  Somehow I know that I did always know that particular truth.  And that is the reason I have been doing mini-retreats with girlfriends and clients my entire life.  

  Recently, I have partnered with a brilliant life coach, Jeannie Anderson, author of the Women’s W.E.A.L.T.H. program.  Together, Jeannie and I have co-created our own women’s club; “Abundant Young Women Over 40.”  This club is for women who want more for themselves and are ready to step into their biggest game yet.  We will host a live experiential retreat in October, in the secluded mountainous area in the heart of Arizona , for a small group of women committed to going deeper into their own existence and reclaiming their dreams.  Jeannie and I will be releasing more information about “Abundant Young Woman Over 40” in the near future.

What Stands In The Way Of The Personal And Business Success That You Want?

   Have you ever felt like you are working so hard, doing everything you know to do, and still feel like you aren’t achieving the level of success you know is possible for you?  Have you felt exhaustion and frustration because you know there is more for you to do, be and have but don’t know what else you can possible do to make it happen for you?

  When I ask my audiences in my public presentations, “How many of you have reached the personal level of success you would like to have?” very few raise their hand.  So, what is it that blocks us from being all that that we can be?

  The women who come to me are on their own journey of self-discovery.  They tell me they wake up in the morning with a yearning, wanting something more for themselves, but don’t know how to tap into it.  They’ve tried fulfilling that yearning by getting yet another credential, moving up on the corporate ladder, reading spiritual and self-help books and attending workshops and yet nothing has filled that quiet, yet intense call deep within their heart.

How Do You Find Your Life’s Passion? 

For years, like most of my clients, I was searching; trying to find what it is that would free me of this yearning for purpose in my own life.  I knew there was more within me to be expressed.  I changed jobs, I attended workshops, I followed gurus, waiting, even begging for someone to be able to evoke that deeper brilliance I knew was within me.  I knew that if someone would just help me identify my passion that I would have no problem stepping into it, I just needed help uncovering it!

  Isn’t that odd?  We live with ourselves from the day we were born, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, every year – and we still don’t know what that one single thing that is so special, unique and purposeful about ourselves is!  So, we begin the search outside of ourselves to learn the answer.  I call it “looking for me in all the wrong places.”

  Here is the secret; your passion is as close as your very own breath.  If that is true, then why are so many of us living day-to-day with this feeling of being disconnected from our true self?  Studies have shown that 84% of us are not living in congruence with our core passion and purpose!  That means that most adults are still searching for their truth.

  Here is another secret; the transformation that can occur between the search, and discovering your true nature, passion and purpose is simply awareness.  The awareness of reconnecting with who you were born to be.  The awareness that comes from unearthing what is so unique and brilliant about you that you are able to deeply touch and begin to fully express your purpose, your passion and your truth.

  Fortunately, I had the blessing of discovering this awareness for myself.  I now know that it is my purpose to help as many others reconnect with their natural-born purpose and passion as possible.  I know the pain and frustration of feeling disconnected from your core self, and I know the joy and freedom that comes from becoming realigned with my truth.  I have been inspired to help others stop the search and live life as fully and passionately as we are meant to live.
